Horse Riding Lessons
If you are beginner or been riding horses for a while, we provide lessons for all ages and abilities. We ride in our arenas where the skills of riding are mastered in a safe and controlled environment. You will learn a range of horsemanship skills from riding to care of the horse and tack. Once you are confident, lessons are taken out around the farm.
If your goal is learning dressage or jumping, trekking around the beautiful Marlborough countryside, or learning skills to gain confidence on our horses or yours - we can make your dreams come true.
Please note that our horses are small to medium size, so we have a weight limit of 100kg for riders.
After School Riding Lessons
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (during school terms)
We run 2 group lessons per day for school aged children. With a maximum of 4 per lesson, each rider has their own horse and personal attention from our riding teacher. The hour-long lessons involve learning to tack up the horse and horsemanship. During each lesson, the children do exercises and games on horse-back to gain balance and coordination. They will learn how to walk, trot and canter over and around obstacles, and trek around the farm. On days when it is too wet to ride, students will participate in theory lessons in the stables including first aid for horse and rider, equestrian anatomy and healthcare, and care and maintenance of tack.
